BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in rural New Jersey, we even had an RFD (Rural Free Delivery) address. Most of my youth was spent fishing, swimming, exploring and drawing. My first job was a caddy on a public golf course. My teachers thought I was a bright but underachieving daydreamer... all but one, who took me to concerts, puppet shows and art museums. Muriel Bradley was (along with my brave mom) my hero. She opened my eyes to the good things. I underachieved my way out of a scholarship to Cooper Union Art school. Disappointed, directionless, I joined the Air Force. They taught me electronics and shipped me off to Vietnam.  I still did drawings. Somehow the good things were still there, even in a war. By now they were part of me.

After the military I saved up for a year and enrolled in the  University of Arizona in Tucson.  My major was painting but that couldn’t support my new wife and daughter.  Opportunities, however, continued to present themselves and I found myself creating illustrations for advertising and an Art Directorship at an industrial (electronics) manufacturer. Then along came the computer graphics revolution. I had repaired and built computers! You think God had a plan? Since then, other opportunities: ...  Teaching at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, CA and Design and Trade art schools, servicing clients throughout the nation and worldwide. Wherever I am I’ll look for the good things.
